The Commission should strive to encourage research on the history and legacy of slavery in Maryland. Achievement of his goal may be greatly aided through the targeting funds for the identification and maintenance of library and archival resources relevant to research. The goal would also benefit from the production of guides and the maintenance of on-line databases of relevant holdings, especially holdings that are not appropriately catalogued and documented.
